The short version

You can play MathTrainer fully anonymously — no account, no email, nothing required. Your levels, stats, and personal best are stored only in your own browser (localStorage) and never leave your device. The only things that ever reach our server are: an anonymous, randomly-generated player ID, your submitted score/accuracy for the leaderboard, and — only if you choose to enter them — a display name, country, or grade/education level.

What we collect automatically

When you play a round, we store your score, question count, accuracy, and overall level against a randomly-generated anonymous ID (e.g. ANON-XXXXXXXX) that is not tied to your name unless you choose to add one. We also record a hashed (not reversible) version of your IP address and browser user-agent, used only for basic spam prevention and to show a country flag next to your name.

What you can optionally add

After a round, you can choose to save a display name, country, and grade/education level for the leaderboard. These are entirely optional, are asked for once, and are stored against your anonymous player ID — never displayed on the leaderboard except your chosen name and country. We don't ask for an email address here, and we don't sell or use anything you add for marketing.

If you contact us

The Contact page (including tutoring inquiries) is a separate, opt-in form — it asks for your name, email, and message so we can reply to you directly. That information is used only to respond to your inquiry, and isn't linked to your anonymous player ID or leaderboard activity.

Children's privacy

MathTrainer is enjoyed by players of all ages, including children practicing math with a parent or guardian. The name, country, and grade fields on the leaderboard are always optional, and the game is fully playable without any of them. If a parent or guardian is reaching out via the Contact page on a child's behalf, that's welcome too.

Your choices

Clearing your browser's site data removes all locally-stored progress. If you'd like a leaderboard entry or saved grade removed from our server, contact us using the details on the Contact page and we'll remove it.
